As a Democrat who's very anxious to defeat Gordon Smith, Steve's comments about John Frohnmayer give me pause.
Our candidates should all be clamoring for the urgent need to replace Gordon Smith with a progressive Democrat! That Novick would even consider voting for Frohnmayer over Merkley is detrimental to the Democratic nominee's cause, no matter who that ends up being.
Look, we're going to have to close ranks especially fast after this competitive primary. And the only way we can do that is to have all of our candidates get on full-force for the Democratic nominee. Let's face it, only a Democrat can in in November against Smith.
Novick did grudgingly admit that he'd vote for the nominee, but made it look like he'd have to hold his nose to do so.
He should be 110% excited to take down Gordon Smith, even if Jeff Merkley is the nominee.
