Linky Madness

Quickly, a few stories I'm reading...

I only have a couple of minutes at the computer today, so I'll pass along a few things that I've been reading. These items are especially interesting considering the ballots have already been mailed and people are starting to vote.

-Sho Dozono releases his first T.V. ad of the mayoral campaign. In a thoroughly unscientific review of BlueOregon commenters, people are not impressed. Best comment: "an ad of pure cotton candy..." The verdict? At least the money he raised won't be left unused...

-One more Dozono item: he finally paid up his back rent and taxes. I guess getting caught will do that to you.

-Mannix & Co fail to get anti-dope measure on ballot. Whoopie! Time for him to focus on harassing Oregonians in a congressional race and with his other, ridiculous "anti-crime" measures.

-This is off-politics, but noteworth. Anyone catch the Kentucky Derby? Then you're undoubtedly aware of the tragic death of Eight Belles, Derby runner-up. She was euthanized on the track and people are now asking questions. I enjoy horse-racing, but not at this price. Indeed, not at this price...

-Okay, on the environmental side, Metro is working on a plan to make their garbage-hauling trucks more environmentally-sound: scrubbers for the truck exhaust systems. Details are still being worked out, and it's not ideal, but any step in an envrionentally-friendly direction is a good one.

Okay, I'm off. I've had a busy weekend, but I'll be back to normal tomorrow.
