Final Push for Jeff Merkley- Race in Dead Heat & May Day Push!

Jeff Merkley's background, a nice piece of press, and a new ad all contribute to a big May Day push

I'm still pretty sick, so I haven't had much free time to blog. But I wanted to drop in this evening and tell you about Jeff Merkley's final push in his race to take on Gordon Smith. First, a new Survey USA poll came out today showing the race in a dead heat (with Steve Novick). So, what does that mean? Jeff's been closing, and it seems the people of Oregon are starting to turn on to his experience, awesome progressive credentials, and message of change. What can you do?

Jeff and his team are working hard, and their supporters are trying to match that commitment by raising $5k on May Day. If you have a few bucks, click on the above link and head on over to Jeff's Actblue page.

Also, the Oregonian came out with a nice article on Jeff today. The title says it all: "Merkley's past far from 'establishment.'" Jeff may have the support of many traditional Democratic groups (the working families of many unions, local electeds, enviro groups), but he has a fascinating history that he can bring to bear on this race and the Senate if he's elected. Take a read!

Also, in closing, I'll also pass along Jeff's third ad. It's a nice showcase of where he comes from and, in context, what he stands for:

Okay, back to being derelict and sick on the couch. Take care, everyone.
