Mayoral Updates Post Candidates-Gone-Wild
This will be brief, because I've been laid up all day with the flu, and I feel terrible.
I had the pleasure of attending Candidates Gone Wild last night, and it was hilarious and amusing. I had to duck out after Sam Adams performed his "talent," as I was sick. But there's a fun little highlight over at the Willamette Week's website.
In the news today, we have three pieces associated with the Mayor's race:
(1) Sho Dozono hasn't been paying rent for his Bush Gardens restaurant downtown. Oops. Nice time to stop paying your rent, when you're running for mayor. Real classy.
(2) Sam Adams has released his campaign ad. I like it, as it showcases his good progressive credentials. It also seems Sho Dozono has plopped down $60k on his own ad, but isn't releasing it. Oh well. We'll see if all of the publicity can overcome the bad media he's been generated (see #1, above).
(3) A second KATU poll came out today, showing the race at 47% Sam to 36% Sho. This is a gain from the 39-38 tie that was recorded in the last KATU poll. This is still out of my comfort zone, but it gives Adams supporters all the more reason to push hard in closing.
Okay, back to bed. Take care!
Disclaimer: I worked for Sam Adams' office in 2005 and I'm an ardent support, but I speak and write only for myself.
