Sam Adams & Sho Dozono Fight It Out on KGW
Later tonight, the race to become Portland's next mayor will come to a dramatic head as Sam Adams faces Sho Dozono on KGW. The debate will be telecast across the Portland metro area, so tune in!
I'll be in attendance to support Sam and to cover the event. Afterward, I'm going to come back here and share my thoughts on how the matchup went.
If you want some pre-debate reading, I'd check out yesterday's Oregonian, where their editorial board strongly endorsed Sam for mayor. Indeed, they believe that Sam is the right person at the right time in Portland's history and that he has the skill-set and experience to really be an effective mayor. The text isn't online yet, but I'll link back to it when it appears.
So tune in at 7 p.m. tonight on Portland's NBC affiliate, KGW. Enjoy!
[Update @ 9:55]: They're rebroadcasting the debate on Northwest Cable News, so I'm going to catch that and see how it looked. On some of the shots, you can even see me sitting behind the panelists!
I'll have more specific reaction first thing tomorrow, after I've had time to think about the debate. In general, I'm really feeling good about Sam and both his vision and specifics. He really delivered in tonight's debate.
In terms of immediate take-away, I'd go over to Blogtown, PDX and read what Amy Ruiz had to say.
Disclaimer: I worked for Sam Adams' office in 2005 and I'm an ardent support, but I speak and write only for myself.
