Do you know where your next pie is coming from?

Hello, friends. I bring you joyous news. Today, January 23, is National Pie Day. This beautiful and glorious day was created by the American Pie Council, which "is the only organization committed to preserving America's pie heritage and promoting American's love affair with pies." Their goals are to "raise awareness, enjoyment and consumption of pies." If you become a member, one of the benefits is a quarterly newspaper, Pie Times. Another benefit is that when the Pie Purges come, you won't be first up against the wall - indeed, you'll be putting the cakeeaters there! Don't forget, if you're not a pie lover, or if you don't eat pie today, you're probably an evil America-hating freedom-hating fascist. After all, only somebody like that would turn down the opportunity to share warmth and comfort through delicious, pro-freedom baked goods. Join me today in eating pie - and bringing some joy and love to this dark, cake-filled world.
