FeedsOn democracy, pie and cookies
And now, a short parable on our democracy and what we can do to fix it.
Dear friends and readers, you know as well as I do that our country is heading towards ruinous decline. But, never fear, for there is always the opportunity to pull ourselves back from the brink of destruction. All we need to do is recognize that our country is but unused cookie dough - it's pretty good even in its current state (especially with ice cream!) but still lacks in longevity and true power. In other words, this is our country:
As you can see, it is good on its own and certainly has potential. Is that a pie tin, you ask? Why yes, dear friend. Yes it is. With just a tiny bit of attention, we can see that our country is turning into something remarkable:
I know. It looks delicious, doesn't it? I want to put ice cream on it and just eat it raw while watching Star Wars or something. But hold fast, friend. We are being seduced by the glamor of current worthwhileness. Our democracy is not yet ready, for as it stands, it's probably got salmonella and if we let it sit for a while a bunch of bugs will start eating it or shitting on it or something gross. The cat (or roomba) would probably eat it. This is why we need to take positive action and make sure that we set a strong example for the rest of the world.
Aren't you glad that you waited? Aren't you glad that you now have this amazing democracy to consume and grow happy from? Yet again, everything becomes better after pieification, and I urge you all to support pie everywhere.

Okay, I just re-read this post more carefully. I had thought that the parts I'd skimmed were the steps involved in actually baking the cookie-pie. I couldn't have been more wrong. They're not even instructions for cooking democracy.
