Senator Reid Blocks Recess Appointments

President Bush has frequently used recess appointments to avoid battles in the Senate. Most notably, he appointed Bolton to the UN ambassadorship as a recess appointment, only to eventually have the Senate refuse to approve him, requiring him to step down. In a rare show of both balls and utility, Senator Reid has decided to keep the Senate in session during the Thanksgiving break, denying Bush the possibility of any sneaky recess appointments.

It's about time the Democratic leadership did something to counter Bush's actions. They're starting to look like co-dependent enablers. Bush needs their posturing to rail against, while they need his absurdly harmful actions to whine about.
