Why you should never buy a $770K car

Posted by Michael on November 14, 2007 at 4:08 p.m. in Technology, News, Zeppelins

In Russia, land of many awesome things, some daring thieves have stolen a car worth $770,000 (or 25 Euros) from a man while he was having dinner. It was a luxury limo. The owner went inside to a restaurant, thieves came and tied his driver up in the back, then dumped him when they were far enough away.

Authorities are speculating that it was stolen to order by some gangs trying to sell it in the Ukraine or Kazakhstan.

The car was a Maybach, apparently the ultimate status symbol in Russia (for the time being -- soon it will be a lock of Putin's hair). I can, of course, see why the Maybach is such a wanted car, since it's made by the same subsidiary of the Zeppelin Company that created engines for those lovely, lovely airships.

  • Putin's hair is harder to find than a Maybach.
