Vietnam: Still awful

Posted by Michael on November 14, 2007 at 5:10 p.m. in News

In case you needed more solid proof that we should be damn glad we're out of Vietnam, Reuters is reporting that the Vietnamese army is spending its time killing escaped crocodiles. No wait, it gets better. These crocodiles have escaped from a legal crocodile farm which was slated to raise 5,544 crocodiles. The crocodiles are being bred for skin, meat, and supervillains. So far, the elite croc-hunting team of Vietnam's army, rangers, local militia and peasants have captured 88 escaped crocodiles. Nobody knows how many escaped.

Don't be worried, though. Vietnam's beaches are still safe, since these crocodiles are fresh-water.

Yeah. I feel much safer.

  • I ate a gator once. It tasted like gamy barbecue.

    • I should refine my comment:

This was at Gatorland in Florida, where I ate a gator while watching someone wrestle a gator. It was quite an interesting day.
