We have nothing to fear: redheads have always been with us and will never go away
To all those disheartened to hear that redheads were going extinct and then overjoyed to learn that it was all a hoax/marketing ploy, there is further good news, from reputable scientists in published journals no less.
As the AP reports, scientists have confirmed that some (at least 1%) neanderthals had fair skin and red hair, traits which would serve them well in less sunny European areas. You can see the abstract of the article in Science here.
