Traffic Wastes my Time
Oregon commuters average 38 hours a year waiting in traffic
According to The Oregonian, Portland commuters spend nearly 40 hours a year delayed by traffic, on par with the national average. Ben's beloved Los Angelous was the worst in the nation.
I figure that I spend almost 40 hours a month commuting, and probably 2/3rds of that is stuck in delays. Sorry to bring up the average, Portland.

Comments from site editors have a darker background than comments from everybody else. While the Bay Area is way up there with 54 hours per person, thankfully I go the opposite direction of traffic and have basically no delays.

I spend some time driving in the Bay Area - even if it takes longer, it never feels as evil as driving in Portland. There's a tension in the air here that I never get when I'm tearing ass on I-280.

I ride a scooter. Depending on the street and traffic I'm either zipping ahead of everybody or creating the delays. The scooter is a great thing for inner Portland use but that's about it.
